Course Description
This course in Physical Geology is designed to provide an introduction to the geologic past, present and future of our planet. We will study how internal processes deep within the Earth control the external features of our planet via volcanoes, earthquakes and mountain building and how the Earth’s past can be read from rocks and fossils. The overall goal of this course is to heighten awareness of the Earth as a holistic system as well as provide a geological framework within which to understand the issues of present and future environmental change. Please note that this is a numerically based GER course. It is highly recommended that you have proficiency in high school math before taking this course.
